Brooklyn Creative League will be hosting its 2nd Neighborhood Supper Club this month. What they hope to accomplish with these supper clubs is to get environmentally minded folk together to talk sustainability, food, and fun. And Brooklyn Creative League is open to having these clubs grow. Currently there are 12 core members of the supper club. Last month’s supper club, which also happened to be the first supper club, held 15 people and Brooklyn Creative League is expecting to have the same amount of people this month. Neil F. Carson, co-founder of Brooklyn Creative League along with his wife Erin L. Carney, has plenty of room for the supper club to grow. Space at Brooklyn Creative League can accommodate up to 40 people. “We want to keep it manageable so that we can all talk and the conversation is intimate and focused. But we also want to make it as accessible to people as we can.” And with delectable treats like vegetarian masala and raw swiss chard made with vegan parmesan cheese and flavorful spices at last month’s supper club who wouldn’t want to join?
Green Edge and Brooklyn Creative League: A Perfect Match
Brooklyn Creative League offers green shared workspace to creative professionals. They have found the model Green Edge has provided to hosts the supper clubs very helpful. They give kudos to Carolyn Gilles and Judy Harper for creating a successful network of people who are committed to the Green Movement. They are also delighted being this month’s spotlighted supper club. “Green Edge and Brooklyn Creative League definitely share a commitment to sustainability and community building so to be able to have this partnership and to be able to build relationships with other people interested in those issues is exactly in line with what we’re hoping to do with the business.”
Possibilities in the Future
Brooklyn Creative League is willing to take the supper clubs to wherever members are willing to go with it. Possible opportunities at subsequent supper clubs include open networking and targeted discussions related to communities and sustainable business. Other ideas include bringing in guest speakers and film screenings. Brooklyn Creative League is excited to where the nexus of sustainable food and business takes them.
And with these goals, there is no doubt that Brooklyn Creative League’s supper clubs will go far.
